Danish favorite for breaky and afternoons: mum’s porridge

Sunday morning, everybody is so lazy in my house, including me… that I finally get a bit of time to be relaxed after a busy week. All I want is to take it easy and do everything slow ahahahaha. In DK breakfast means porridge also since you are little kid. I love it and this is just one of my versions.

Domingo de manha, todo mundo esta super preguicoso na minha casa, incluindo eu mesma… que finalmente tenho um pouquinho de tempo para ficar relax depois de uma semana super atarefada. Tudo que eu quero e ficar tranquila e fazer tudo devagar ahahahah. Na Dk cafe da manha tambem significa mingau desde quando voce e’ pequenino. Eu adoro e esta e’ somente uma das minhas versoes.

In this version I used organic super tender gigantic dates, home made rhubarb jam, and hazelnuts. In a moment you can have a lovely breaky for your family and be satisfied for a few hours to go.

Cafe’ preto moido na hora e mingau! Quer fazer um dinamarques feliz? Sim? Entao de isso pra ele. Voce vai conquista-los! Nessa versao eu usei tamaras gigantes super macias organicas, geleia de rabarbaro feita em casa, e avelas. Em um minuto voce pode ter um cafe da manha adoravel para sua familia e se sentir satisfeito por algumas horas a diante.

Get used to it because I’ll be posting many preps with this incredible vegetable. You just have to wash them, cut them into pieces maybe 3 cm, cook them for about 20 min all with organic raw sugar cane and one stick of vanilla. I put just 4 spoons of sugar for a bunch of rhubarb. If you want more, just do it as you like.

Agora e’ epoca de rabarbaro e eu simplesmente adoro. Melhor que voces se acostumem, porque eu postarei muitas outras opcoes com ele. Voce so’ tem que lava-lo, corta-lo em pedacos de talvez 3 cm, cozinha-los por cerce 20 min tudo com acucar escuro integral organico e um galho de baunilha. Eu coloco somente umas 4 colheres de acucar em um maco de rabarbaro. Se voce quer mais, adicione como voce quiser.

In Denmark they even give the children porridge at school in the afternoons. Kids here are very much attached to that. They love it! And of course the adults too! There are a few cafes in Copenhagen in the funky trendy area of  Nørrebro which serve only porridge at any time. Super interesting. I’ll go visit one of these days and post it for you.

Cafe’, mingau e frutas frescas fazem a melhor combincao para um cafe da manha delicioso. Na Dk eles dao mingau para as criancas nas escolas como merenda ‘a tarde. As criancas aqui sao muito apegadas ao mingau. Elas amam! E logico os adultos tambem. Existem alguns cafes em Copenhagen na super funky trendy area de Nørrebro que serve apenas mingau a qualquer hora. Super interessante. Eu vou visita-lo um dia desses e faco um post para voces.

Syren or lilacs flowers are everywhere in Denmark nowAnd let Spring sprung! You can find these babies everywhere in Copenhagen. They are called syren in Danish or lilac in English. I just love them and they look so beautiful in any table. My husband just went for a walk and brought these beauties home. Perfect!

E deixe a primavera florir! Voce encontra esses bebes em todos os lugares em Copenhagen. Sao chamados syren no dinamarques ou lilac no ingles. Eu simplesmente as adoro e ficam lindas em qualquer mesa. Meu marido saiu para caminhar e trouxe essas belezas para casa. Perfeito!

perfect danish style breakfast with porridge and rhubarb jamIf you don’t know how to cook porridge, is easy. Just boil about 2 cups of water and pour half cup of oat meal into the boiling water. Let it cook for about 2 or 3 min. You will see when it’s ready. Hope you liked this breaky as well. We see each other very soon with another super nice post from my black bike. Thank you friends!

Se voce nao sabe como fazer um mingau, e’ muito simples. Em uma panela, ferva agua, mais ou menos duas xicaras. Jogue meia xicara de aveia integral na agua fervendo. Ferva somente por 2 ou 3 minutos e esta pronto. Voce vai ver que esta pronto. Espero que voces tenham gostado desse posto tambem. Nos vemos logo em um outro post super bacana da minha black bike.
